Capitol Hill Bar Tenant Improvement Buildout: Life on Mars

Have you heard about the latest night spot on Capitol Hill? It’s seriously out of this world. Life on Mars is a collaboration among several well-known, Seattle-based, music enthusiasts including, John Richards of KEXP.

Address: 722 E Pike St, Seattle, WA 98122

Located on 722 East Pike on Capitol Hill in Seattle, this vinyl and community focused venue has great ambiance and a vegan-friendly menu. Sonos Sound provided the speakers, Easy Street Records helped source music for the vinyl wall, and Exact Electric did the lighting and all things electrical. The atmosphere can be attributed to the food, drinks, music, and sound system absolutely. However, we would also like to give a special nod to the lighting.

This project was a whole tenant improvement buildout including pendant lighting. We lit up the whole area along the bar, and installed all wiring for the kitchen and bathrooms, including the freezer, cooler, and storage. We also helped wire the turntables and mixing board and of course we set up the exit lighting as well.

We made a point (although clearly you didn’t have to twist our arm) to visit the venue right after it opened, during the evening hours, so we could see our lighting in action. It helped to get a feel for the vibe the owners were looking to create, so we could help make adjustments if needed. We came back the next day and changed the length of the lighting – raising them up in many cases. This added touch gave them the aesthetics and feel they wanted.

It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of something so exciting and fun. We encourage you to check out this great new venue and check out Exact Electric’s work too!
