Exact Electric has had the good fortune to work with some of the most reliably talented and creative craftspeople in Seattle.
And Mētis Construction is right up there with the best. The Exact team partnered with Mētis recently on a custom home in West Seattle that was draw-dropping in its craftmanship and attention to detail.
Together the Mētis and Exact Electric teams worked with architect/owner of the home on ensuring the electricity, lighting, and data needs of the home were exceptionally executed.
Our team was in charge of installing 400 amp service, bringing power to the detached garage, and lighting the outdoor areas and pathways. We also wired data and cable throughout the home and wired the big hood in the kitchen.
We did all the appliances of course, but it is important to note the big hood as it is a central aspect to one of the main living spaces in the home.
All the lighting in the home is on dimmers and the owner requested Lutron Claro devices (receptacles, and switches), lots of can lights and high-end LED lighting.
While all dimmers look the same, they all utilize different technology – forward phasing, 0-10 volt, and electronic low voltage. This means our team had to be experts on the appropriate lighting needed for the appropriate dimmer. And our team are indeed experts!
As is the case with any home, ambiance is a huge component to showing off the warmth, openness, and style of one’s home. Lighting also has a big role in creating an ambiance that is instantly intriguing from the outside, while also creating a welcoming and safe environment in which to come home.
We installed all exterior lighting, which is also on dimmers and also has a photo eye, so when it gets dark out, the lights automatically go on.
“Precision and collaboration were key to making this dream home come to life. We have had a longstanding relationship with Zach and the Exact Electric team and know they are meticulous and incredibly responsive. Their ability to participate in design solutions and carry out the smallest of details, made them essential to the entire process. We worked with several individuals on the Exact Electric team and each were equally responsive, thorough, and willing to rise to the occasion of whatever was asked.
A lot of the high-end, designer fixtures selected by the owner/architect were brass, which means each had to be handled with absolute care or they would be marred and tarnished. The Exact Electric team did a phenomenal job handling each of them with gloves and installing them to the exact specifications of the owner/architect. They also worked with the house’s modern low-tolerance design, always ensuring solutions were thought out before installation. This approach saves money and time and most importantly, ensures the end result is beautiful.” – Sarah Kautz, Mētis Construction
