Patagonia Outdoor Clothing – Ballard, Seattle
What’s the fastest route to the top of a mountain?
For many it is having the right gear and doing the hard work to prepare for the adventure.
For Patagonia Outdoor Clothing, it was hiring Exact Electric to help with opening their latest store in Seattle.
They were working against a fast timeline (they contacted us in July for an August opening date) to make this tenant improvement happen. They needed contractors that had the skills, flexibility and knowledge to upgrade and install the electrical needs in a historic building in the heart of Ballard.
Exact Electric was up for the climb, working weekends and after hours and coordinating with other trades to ensure the store was ready to open its doors to outdoor enthusiasts.
Our experience with remodels, tenant improvements and historic buildings, made Exact Electric the perfect partner.
Our Exact Electric team was able to preserve much of the old wiring, which always has its challenges in old Seattle buildings. After the building was gutted, we helped with the rebuild by wiring and installing light fixtures and fans, including putting the lights on a time clock, installing occupancy sensors in the back storage room, office, breakroom and restroom.
We also brought sign power to the front as well as power to the displays, which included overhead lighting.
Data cabling was also put in by the Exact Electric team, which required terminating it and testing it so the IT guy could jump right in and plug in his passwords into the server. And as we do for most jobs we work on, we worked with the city to ensure Patagonia met Seattle’s electrical code requirements and submitted the correct permit paperwork.
We made it to the top, on time and boy was it great fun knowing the right team was in place to make it happen! We are excited to have contributed to Ballard’s historic retail hub by lighting up a store that is helping others climb to the top.
